Disney Junior General Manager Nancy Kanter To Deliver Keynote At Gracie Awards Luncheon May 23

The Alliance for Women in Media Foundation (AWMF) has announced that Nancy Kanter, Senior Vice President of Original Programming and General Manager, Disney Junior Worldwide, will deliver the keynote address at the 2012 Gracie Awards Luncheon on May 23, 2012 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Beverly Hills.   
The Gracie Awards Luncheon will recognize the 2012 local, online, public and student winners. “We are thrilled that Nancy Kanter, an accomplished and powerful woman in media, will deliver the keynote at the 2012 Gracie Awards Luncheon,” said AWM Chair Valerie K. Blackburn.  “With many rising stars in media attending the Gracie Awards Luncheon, we are sure Nancy will inspire the next generation of media leaders.”
Nancy Kanter is responsible for Disney Junior, the multiplatform destination for kids age 2-7 that reflects the emotional connection generations of consumers have to Disney storytelling and Disney characters, both classic and contemporary.
Disney Junior is available on basic cable in more than 99 million U.S. homes (via a daily block on Disney Channel) and to millions of other viewers on 28 Disney Junior channels and free-to-air broadcast partners around the world.  On March 23, 2012, Disney Junior will debut as a 24-hour basic cable and satellite channel in the U.S.  Kanter leads the development and production of creative content for Disney Junior, unifying the creative vision and ensuring cohesiveness between programming, promotion and extensions of the brands.  She also oversees strategic direction for the multiplatform Disney Junior brand on TV, digital, and radio platforms.
